Seven other teams from the Super 8 will also qualify directly. Additionally, the top three teams in the ICC T20I rankings, excluding those already qualified, by June 30, 2024, will earn spots.
Teams in the top 8 of the tournament will automatically qualify for the next edition. The 2026 event will involve 20 teams, with 12 entering directly and 8 determined through regional qualifiers organized by the ICC.
The USA secured their spot after their final group game against Ireland in Florida was rained out. This advancement meant Pakistan and Ireland were eliminated.
Other teams will begin their journey toward qualifying for the 2026 tournament, starting with the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Sub Regional Qualifier A in Rome. This event will feature 10 teams competing across two venues, aiming to progress to the Europe Qualifier scheduled for the following year.
Over seven days, 24 matches will be held at the Roma Cricket Ground and Simar Cricket Ground, with teams from Austria, France, Hungary, Isle of Man, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania, and Turkey participating. Similar sub-regional qualifiers will occur across other ICC regions in late 2024, with regional finals set for 2025.
