How Sudharsan’s Explosive Century Propels GT to Victory?

Sudharsan fell short by 69 runs before reaching a significant milestone during his play on Friday. Initially, he started slow, facing four dot balls out of his first seven. However, when he struck his first six against Shardul Thakur, his momentum soared. Another significant hit came off Tushar Deshpande’s bowling, making his intentions clear.

Although there was a brief period without boundaries, Sudharsan regained momentum in the 9th over, hitting a four and a six against Ravindra Jadeja. He continued his aggressive play against Simarjeet and Daryl Mitchell, easily dispatching their deliveries for boundaries.

Sudharsan achieved his half-century in 32 balls and then rapidly progressed to his maiden IPL century in just 18 more balls. Unfortunately, his innings ended at 103 runs when he attempted another six in the 18th over.

This performance placed Sudharsan as the fourth player to surpass 500 runs this season, joining the likes of Virat Kohli, Gaikwad, and Travis Head. Currently, he holds the No.4 position in the Orange Cap list with 527 runs from 12 matches.

Sai Sudharsan’s Stellar Century Lights Up IPL Stage

In the 2023 IPL final, Sudharsan came really close to scoring 100 runs against CSK, but unfortunately, he was out when he reached 96. However, he didn’t miss his chance to shine when he played again on Friday. This time, he scored his very first IPL hundred, and he did it in just 50 balls! Before that, he hit 50 runs in 32 balls, and then he smacked a six off Simarjeet Singh’s bowling to complete his century.

Teaming up with Shubman Gill, who also scored a century in 50 balls, Sudharsan caused a lot of trouble for the Super Kings. Together, they made a partnership of 210 runs while opening the batting, and they did this in just 17.2 overs. This amazing partnership became the sixth time in IPL history that two players made over 200 runs together.
