India’s Paris Olympics Team

The Indian team heading to the Games will include 47 female and 70 male athletes. Among them, track and field athletes will have the largest number, with 29 participants. Shooters will come in second, with 21 athletes. In weightlifting, only Mirabai Chanu, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, will represent India. Equestrian, Judo, and Rowing will each have just one athlete.

For the first time ever at the Olympics, India will have almost as many support staff as athletes. A total of 67 coaches and 72 other support staff members will travel with the team to the Paris Olympics. This means there will be nearly one support staff member for every athlete, reflecting a balanced approach to preparing for the Games.
