Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been re-elected as the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for another two-year term. The announcement was made by TDP Election Committee Chairman Varla Ramaiah during the party’s annual Mahanadu conclave. This re-election reinforces Naidu’s undisputed leadership within the party and marks a significant milestone, 30 years since he first became the party chief in 1995.
Naidu’s leadership has played a crucial role in shaping the TDP’s political journey and maintaining its relevance in Andhra Pradesh politics. During his address on the second day of the Mahanadu event, he spoke to a large gathering of party members and supporters.
He emphasized the importance of unity within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the TDP, BJP, and Janasena. Naidu called on all alliance members to stay united and work collectively for a stronger future.
Chandrababu Naidu Re-Elected as TDP National President
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has once again been chosen as the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). This re-election gives him another two-year term as the party’s top leader. The announcement was made during the Mahanadu 2025, TDP’s major annual three-day meeting, held in the YSR Kadapa district.
The big announcement happened on the second day of Mahanadu, in front of a large crowd of TDP members and supporters. Varla Ramaiah, a senior party leader and Chairman of the TDP Election Committee, declared the results publicly. He shared that Chandrababu Naidu had been unanimously re-elected, meaning everyone supported his leadership.
After announcing the results, Ramaiah also conducted the oath-taking ceremony, officially swearing in Naidu for the new term. The moment was celebrated with loud cheers, claps, and slogans from excited party workers.
Varla Ramaiah also mentioned that a special election office was set up to manage the internal voting process. Around 600 senior party leaders came forward to support Naidu’s nomination for the top post. This clearly showed the strong trust and confidence the party has in his leadership.

Naidu Bats for Ban on Rs 500 and Higher Denomination Notes
Earlier in the day, during his speech at the Mahanadu Sabha, Chandrababu Naidu made a strong pitch for banning high-value currency notes such as Rs 500, Rs 1,000, and Rs 2,000. He argued that removing these large denominations would help reduce corruption and increase transparency in financial transactions across the country.
Naidu emphasized the need to promote digital payments more actively and encourage the use of cashless methods for daily transactions. According to him, moving away from physical currency will help build a cleaner and more accountable financial system in India.
