During the investigation, the accused, Shiv Kumar, confessed to his links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A member of the gang had claimed responsibility for the murder just a day after the shooting.

Shiv Kumar revealed that the murder was carried out on the orders of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. He also mentioned that Shubham Lonkar, believed to be a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, had facilitated his contact with Anmol Bishnoi several times.

Shiv Kumar, one of the attackers responsible for the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, was arrested in Nanpara, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, during a joint operation on Sunday conducted by the state’s special task force and the Mumbai crime branch.

With the arrest of Shiv Kumar and the four accomplices, the total number of arrests in connection with the case has now reached 23.

Siddique, aged 66, was shot dead by three gunmen on October 12 in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The police suspect that Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was behind the murder, although the motive remains unclear.

Alongside Shiv Kumar, two other assailants, Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, were involved in the shooting. Baba Siddique was killed in front of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique’s office.

Who Is Shiv Kumar?

Shiv Kumar, a resident of Gandara in Bahraich, is one of the key suspects in the high-profile murder of Baba Siddique. He was present at the crime scene on October 12 and was involved in the shooting. After the murder, Shiv Kumar went into hiding, evading arrest for some time.

He managed to escape from the scene, but authorities believe he possesses crucial information about the crime. Police suspect that he could be the main link for further investigation, as he is likely to have detailed knowledge about the planning and execution of the murder.

Total 23 Arrested in Baba Siddique Murder

A total of 23 individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. On Thursday, two more suspects, Aditya Gulankar (22) and Rafique Niyaz Shaikh (22), both residents of the Karvenagar area in Pune, were arrested. They were in contact with Pravin Lonkar, one of the alleged conspirators, and Rupesh Mohol, another accused who had already been arrested.

Lonkar and Mohol allegedly provided a 9 mm pistol with ammunition to Gulankar and Shaikh, who were supposed to use it in the crime. The pistol was recovered during the investigation, and efforts are ongoing to trace the ammunition.

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol, who is believed to be in Canada, is suspected to have been behind the murder of Siddique (66), a former Maharashtra minister, who was shot by three gunmen in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12. The motive for the crime, however, remains unclear.
