Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Cermony

For the first time in Olympic history, the opening ceremony will be held outside, in the city, rather than in a stadium. This change aims to make the event more enjoyable for the athletes. The Olympic athletes will parade along a 6 km route by the Seine River, with each national team on its own boat equipped with cameras for online coverage.

The parade will end at the Trocadéro, where the official ceremony, including a speech by the French President, will take place.

This unique approach makes the ceremony accessible to more spectators by holding it in public areas. Eighty screens and speakers will be set up throughout the city to create an immersive experience.
