This crackdown comes shortly after the shocking murder of Baba Siddique, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and a former minister in Maharashtra, who was killed in Mumbai on October 12. The Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for this murder.

The police conducted the arrests in various locations, including Punjab and other states. During the operation, authorities seized a large amount of weapons and ammunition from the suspects, indicating that they were preparing for serious criminal activities. The police are now investigating further to uncover more details about the gang’s plans and connections.

Delhi Police Arrests Member of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

On Friday, the Delhi Police announced the arrest of a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi gangs. They also recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition from him. The arrested individual, Rijwan Ansari, had a bounty of ₹25,000 on his head, as he is considered a key figure in these gangs.

Rijwan is known to be a close associate of Shahbaz Ansari, who was previously arrested for supplying weapons in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Rijwan is also wanted in arms supply cases linked to two police stations in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh—Khujra Dehtat and Kotwali. According to the police, on May 22, the Bulandshahr police dismantled an interstate arms supply network, arresting 12 people and seizing about a dozen illegal firearms.

During their investigation, they identified Rizwan as a significant arms facilitator who had been avoiding arrest, according to a senior police officer.
