Officials revealed that Wagh had transferred money to Nareshkumar Singh, the brother of a previously arrested suspect, Gurnail Singh, as well as to other individuals like Rupesh Mohol and Harishkumar. These transactions were made through internet banking using a SIM card that was recently obtained and registered under the name of another suspect, Salman Vora.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested another person in connection with the Baba Siddique murder, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). With this new arrest, the total number of people arrested in the case has now reached 26.

The person arrested is 26-year-old Sumit Dinkar Wagh, who was taken into custody in Nagpur by the police team investigating the murder. Wagh is from Akola district in Maharashtra and is accused of helping with important financial transactions that played a role in planning the murder.

Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12, just outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office while he was celebrating Dussehra by bursting crackers. The police have been investigating the case and have made several arrests, including Wagh, who is believed to have been involved in transferring money to people who were part of the murder plot.

Authorities say that Wagh used an account in Karnataka Bank, which is located in Petlad, a town in Anand, Gujarat, to send money to several people involved in the crime. The money was sent to Nareshkumar Singh, who is the brother of Gurnail Singh, one of the men already arrested in the case.

Wagh also transferred money to two other suspects, Rupesh Mohol and Harishkumar, who are both in police custody. The police believe these financial transactions were an important part of the conspiracy behind the murder of Baba Siddique.

Police disclosed that Sumit Dinkar Wagh carried out these financial transactions using internet banking and a newly obtained SIM card, which was registered under the name of Salman Vora, another suspect already in custody.

Additionally, the account used for these transfers was also opened in Vora’s name, suggesting deliberate efforts to hide the transaction trail. Authorities added that Wagh was following instructions from Shubham Lonkar, a wanted suspect who is still on the run.

The police confirmed that the Baba Siddique murder was carried out under the orders of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. After their arrest, the shooters admitted to maintaining regular contact with Anmol via the social media app Snapchat and spoke to him right before carrying out the attack on the NCP leader.

Anmol Bishnoi, who is wanted in several high-profile murder cases, including the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, was recently apprehended in California, USA. He is reportedly seeking political asylum there.
